Lifetime Recognition Award
The Lifetime Recognition Award was established to recognize and honor members whose exceptional contribution to TCCN over an extended period of time merits recognition.
Award Recipients
Lucas Golliet
Lucas Golliet was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2025. He has spent his entire 18+ professional career in total rewards roles here in the Twin Cities market, supporting organizations across sectors with strategic guidance on total rewards and workforce planning. Prior to joining EY, Lucas worked with Flaherty & Hood, where he provided job classification, compensation, and organizational consulting services to local government units across Minnesota.
Lucas has been an active leader within the Twin Cities Compensation Network (TCCN) since 2017. His board service includes roles as Programs Chair (2020), President Elect (2021), President (2022), and Past President (2023), along with committee involvement in 2017–2019 and again in 2024–2025. Throughout his tenure, Lucas has helped shape TCCN’s programming and fostered a strong community of compensation professionals.
Luke Malloy
Luke Malloy was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2024. He has spent his entire 30+ professional career in total rewards roles here in the Twin Cities market, and was on the TCCN Board from 2009 through 2014 – serving as Secretary and Treasurer before being President in 2013. Luke has an undergraduate degree in Business from Augsburg University, a MAHRIR from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School and both a CCP and GRP certification.
Luke started his career in 401(k) administration for Honeywell and then at Norwest Bank. During grad school, he moved into his first compensation role at Norwest, shortly before the Wells Fargo merger. After advancing to a global compensation role at Accenture during the dotcom boom, Luke spent the next 12 years at UnitedHealth Group, as a compensation lead for many different business units and moving into people leadership roles.
Seeking a new challenge, he moved on to spend 8 years at Ameriprise Financial, leading both the Compensation team and the Benefits team. After a couple of remote roles for different healthcare companies during Covid, he has settled in a few months ago as the Total Rewards leader at Tactile Medical, expanding his role to include Payroll and HRIS.
Jill Hughes
Jill Hughes was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2023. She served as TCCN’s first Education Chair from 2005 through 2010. Her leadership was instrumental in working with WorldatWork to establish a framework for offering certification classes locally.
Jill started her HR career as a HR business partner before moving into compensation. Eventually finding her way into executive compensation and hasn’t looked back. Her career has included roles in multiple industries in the Twin Cities and has spent the last 16 years with Pentair. Jill holds an undergraduate degree in Business from the University of St. Thomas, a MAHRIR from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and a CCP certification.
Tony Bergmann-Porter
Tony Bergmann-Porter received the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2021. He served TCCN as Program Chair in 2001, Treasurer in 2012 and 2013, and President in 2015. He organized the association’s first annual luncheon meeting, developed and implemented the association’s investment policy for its reserve funds, was instrumental in the creation of the TCCN Scholarship, continually worked to strengthen our relationship with the Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies at the Carlson School of Management, and established the Lifetime Recognition Award in 2015.
His career has included leadership roles as an HR Business Partner and in compensation and rewards in both Canada and the United States in the mining, big box retail, high tech manufacturing, food distribution, and recognition industries. He is also very proud to have worked on the project to staff the Transportation Security Administration in the wake of 9/11. He has guest lectured on compensation and equity awards at the University of Minnesota, and was named an Alumni Mentor of the Year.
Tony holds BBA and Honors BA degrees from the University of New Brunswick, an MAHRIR from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and the CCP and CSCP certifications.
Jerry Ong
Jerry Ong received the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2020. As a founding member of TCCN, Jerry has made a lasting impact to the members and community by continuing to be actively involved in events and creating the TCCN scholarship in partnership with the University of Minnesota. Jerry served as Secretary in 2010 and President in 2012 and continues as an active member and panelist.
Jerry is a consultant in global compensation and benefits for various types of enterprises from entrepreneurial to Fortune 500 companies. He enhanced his global experience by designing and implementing total reward programs in the US and Asia. He is a speaker and panelist on global compensation trends and issues at several HR networking organizations.
Jerry has substantive experience managing global compensation and benefits initiatives for large global companies. His experience includes Director of Compensation and Benefits Projects for Dell Asia Pacific where he was based in Malaysia; Director of International Compensation at Ally Financial Services; and Senior Manager of Global Compensation at Accenture. He has developed an exceptional background in people and project management and excellent inter-personal communications skills and ability to make the best possible use of his personal global network.
Jerry holds an undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University in Finance and Economics and an MBA from University of St. Thomas. He was an Adjunct Faculty member at Concordia University where he teaches Strategic Compensation at the undergraduate level. He is fluent in three languages and has the innate ability to communicate across multiple and diverse cultures.
Nancy Diekmann
Nancy Diekmann was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2019 for her commitment to promoting TCCN and the compensation profession. She served as TCCN Board President, Membership Chair and as a member of the Communications, Membership and Programs Committees.
Nancy earned her Ed.D. and MBA at the University of St. Thomas, focusing her dissertation studies on pay communication and transparency. She acquired her undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Nancy holds the CCP and GRP certifications.
After careers in finance and training, Nancy transitioned to compensation. She has worked in most areas of compensation and in multiple industries. Nancy was an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University teaching classes in leadership, total rewards and human resources. Her compensation background has been considered a valuable resource when serving in various community leadership roles.
Ann Bares
Ann Bares received the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2018. She was instrumental in raising the quality of programming years ago and setting a high standard by attraction of great guest speakers. Her blog also has reflected well on the credibility and reputation of TCCN.
Ann Bares is the Managing Partner of Altura Consulting Group, LLC. She has over 25 years of experience consulting in compensation plan design, implementation, review and management.
Ann has worked with a variety of client organizations in reviewing, designing and implementing executive compensation plans, base salary structures, variable and incentive compensation programs, sales compensation programs, and performance management systems. She has extensive experience in developing and conducting training and communication programs to support compensation initiatives. Her clients have included public and privately held businesses, both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, early stage entrepreneurial organizations and larger established companies.
Prior to founding Altura Consulting Group, Ann was employed as a compensation consultant with Riley Dettmann & Kelsey, and Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Willis Towers Watson). Early in her career she spent several years in staff compensation and human resources roles.
Ann has an MBA degree from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA degree from the College of St. Catherine. She has served on the Boards of Directors for the Twin Cities Compensation Network (TCCN) and the Twin Cities Human Resources Association (TCHRA); she is also past President of TCCN. Ann is an active member of WorldatWork (the former American Compensation Association), and has written and served as an article reviewer for Association publications including Workspan and the Journal. Ann has also been named to the Advisory Board of the Compensation & Benefits Review, the leading professional journal for those who teach, research and practice in the total rewards field.
Ann is a frequent speaker to industry and professional groups, and has authored numerous articles, on the topics of compensation and performance management. She is co-author of the book Everything You Do (in Compensation) is Communication. She is also founder and editor of the online Compensation Café, one of the top-rated human resource blogs on the Web and also authors a personal blog on rewards at Compensation Force. She has served as an adjunct curriculum developer for the Institute for Compensation Studies at Cornell University, has been a regular instructor for the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing Education, and has served as adjunct faculty at Concordia University.
Larry Morgan
Larry Morgan was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2017 for his work in compensation and human resources. He is a frequent speaker on compensation issues.
Larry is the owner of Orion HR Group, LLC, an independent consulting organization specializing in the alignment of compensation and benefit programs with business strategies. He has worked for a variety of organizations in lead Compensation roles including Best Buy, Lawson Software, HB Fuller, JD Edwards, Grant Thornton public accounting where he served as national practice leader for Compensation Consulting, CUNA Mutual Group Insurance and National Car Rental where he served as HR generalist for employees in the eastern half of the United States.
Larry teaches a variety of HR related courses for the University of Minnesota, St. Mary’s University and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits. He has served on the Board of the Twin Cities Compensation Network (TCCN), the Twin Cities Human Resources Association and the Board of the Human Resources Executive Forum. He currently serves on the Board of the Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies.
Randy Hunt
Randy Hunt was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2016 for his role in the establishment of TCCN as a formal organization in 2001 and for his service as a board member and volunteer. Randy served two terms as TCCN’s President in 2002 and 2003 and continues as an active member and frequent panelist/presenter.
Randy’s 30+ year compensation career has included progressively responsible positions and consulting roles across multiple industries in the Twin Cities. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and the CCP, CBP, GRP and SPHR certifications. He is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Compensation Association (now WorldatWork).
Kate Lang
Kate Lang was awarded the TCCN Lifetime Recognition Award in 2016. Her leadership and efforts were instrumental in the very survival of TCCN’s precursor organization at a time when it was faltering, and she was the key leader in the foundation of TCCN in 2001 as a formal chartered organization and WorldatWork affiliate. Kate served as TCCN’s first President in 2001 and was Program Co-Chair in 2006.
Kate’s 25+ year compensation career has included progressively responsible positions across a number of industries in the Twin Cities. She holds an undergraduate degree from Metro State University and the CCP and SPHR certifications.
Dan Byrne
In 2010, before there was an ongoing Lifetime Recognition Award, TCCN honored Dan Byrne for his considerable contributions to the organization, including Board service of two terms as Membership Chair (2005 and 2006), and two terms as President (2008 and 2009) and for providing direction to the then-current board, mentoring new board members, and contributing as a speaker and moderator at monthly meetings.
Dan started his career in accounting, switching to compensation in 1992. His career since then has involved increasingly senior responsibilities in compensation and benefits across a number of industries in the Twin Cities. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and CCP certification.
